AppIt worked alongside The State of Colorado to design and develop a mobile app that would serve Colorado residents in a safe, secure, and convenient way. The app’s newest feature, the Colorado Digital ID, enables residents to create an electronic version of their Colorado driver license or state identification (ID) card and display it on their smartphone for proof of identification, age, and address within Colorado. The Colorado Digital ID is a secure, unique visual representation of what has traditionally been the legally accepted official physical format of a person’s identification.
myColorado™ provides a number of valuable state and national resources for Colorado residents. These include (but are not limited to) symptom and testing information from The Colorado Department of Public Health and Safety, a School Free Lunch Sites Map, and ways to donate or help the state through the Help Colorado Now Project.
The State of Colorado wanted to develop a mobile application that would allow Colorado citizens to renew their Drivers License and ID through their mobile device.
After several months of development work and strategic planning, the myColorado app launched on budget and is currently available today on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. The application helps Colorado residents to skip unnecessary lines by providing a contactless solution for accessing state services anytime, anywhere. Today, Colorado State Troopers are accepting the app's Digital ID as a form of safe and valid identification of drivers on the road.See 9News Story
The State of Colorado wanted to develop a mobile application that would allow Colorado residents to renew their driver license and ID through their mobile device, allowing them to skip the line at the DMV altogether.
The Digital ID and Wallet were two required features at the onset of the development project. The State of Colorado wanted to create the first-ever electronic representation of a Colorado driver license. The ID serves as proof of identity, age, and address when residents are interacting with government officials and agencies in Colorado.
The app also needed to be able to let Coloradans store and renew vehicle registration and insurance registration securely from within the app. Security was a prime concern, so features like two factor authentication, Touch ID, and Face ID were necessities.
